The FRA will conduct a workshop on "A fundamental right: asylum, theory and reality" at the 8th International Human Rights Forum.
The 8th International Human Rights Forum will examine the following questions:
-
What are the global status and the chances and challenges of migration from a human rights perspective?
-
Which direction would a future global migration policy pursue?
-
What is the understanding of the terms "migrant", "refugee" or "illegal immigrant" and what are the consequences of these concepts?
-
Does the European migration policy enhance the implementation of human rights?
-
How can educational systems and schools benefit from migration? How can they meet the needs of persons with a migration background?
The FRA will conduct a workshop on "A fundamental right: asylum, theory and reality". It will examine how human rights education and training can make a difference in the situation of asylum seekers, refugees, migrants, victims of trafficking, unaccompanied and separated children.
There will be a screening of the documentary "Little Alien" followed by a discussion on aiding schools and teachers with educational material on the right to asylum.
