FRA to speak at Extraordinary European Platform on Roma Inclusion

The Extraordinary European Platform for Roma Inclusion, a one-day event organised by the European Commission, will take place in Brussels on 22 March 2012.

The FRA, representatives of EU Member States, Members of the European Parliament, representatives of international organisations and Roma civil society will exchange views on national efforts to design national Roma integration strategies on the basis of a commonly agreed EU Framework.

The European Platform for Roma inclusion (short: European Roma Platform) was created to support policy developments for Roma integration and stimulate exchanges and coordination among EU Member States, international organisations and Roma civil society. Many Roma people in the European Union face discrimination, social exclusion and live in very poor socio-economic conditions.
