Celebrating 25 years of the Sakharov prize

From 17-21 November at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, there will be an anniversary conference celebrating 25 years of the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

The FRA Director will give a speech on human rights in the EU: challenges and approaches. The Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought is awarded each year by the European Parliament. The prize was set up in 1988 to honour individuals or organisations for their efforts on behalf of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
