‘When Law and Hate Collide’ conference

FRA will give a keynote speech at a conference on hate crime.

The conference aims to provide the European Parliament and the Commission with a working definition of hate crime and to reach consensus on policy/best practice guidelines in order to ensure all EU Member States offer the same legal certainty across the Union. The FRA presentation will focus on the work it carries out in relation to hate crime, with a particular focus on victims’ rights and the obligations of EU Member States to make hate crime visible. Other keynote speakers include ODIHR and the British Ministry of Justice, with other presentations by academic experts in the field.
