Computers, privacy & data protection conference discusses surveillance

FRA will host a panel discussion at the annual Computers, Privacy & Data Protection conference in Brussels on 29 January.

The panel will address the current and prospective challenges related to surveillance by intelligence services and discuss the solutions to enhance fundamental rights’ safeguards. It will draw on the results of FRA’s report from November 2015 that analysed the legal frameworks on surveillance in EU Member States, the role of oversight bodies as well as access to effective remedies in cases of surveillance. As one of the sponsors of the conference, FRA will also be present throughout the event with an information stand.
