International privacy conference covers oversight and accountability

The Agency will take part in the 38th international privacy conference in Marrakech which takes places from 17 to 20 October.

Security and privacy, and the impact of technology trends on privacy will be just some of the topics covered during the conference. One session in particular will look at oversight and accountability principles for government access to data. This is of particular relevance to the Agency’s ongoing project on fundamental rights safeguards and remedies in the context of the surveillance activities of national intelligence authorities
