Debate focuses on reducing LGBTI health inequalities

The Agency will speak at the European Parliament’s Intergroup on LGBTI rights’ debate on reducing health inequalities experienced by LGBTI people.

The debate will take place in Brussels on 26 April. FRA will speak about its data that show how LGBTI people suffer discrimination in the healthcare sector. Perceptions by healthcare providers may be biased and misinformed due to outdated views on homosexuality and trans people. Children born with an intersex condition may face sex-corrective operations in EU Member States.

The debate will be attended by healthcare professionals, MEPs, the Commission and organisations representing LGBTI people.
