Criminal justice to combat violence against women

On 20 September, the Agency will give a presentation in Vienna during the kick-off event of the OSCE project ‘Effective Criminal Justice Strategies and Practices to Combat Gender-based Violence in Eastern Europe’.

FRA’s contribution will be based on the results of the agency’s violence against women survey, which is the most comprehensive set of survey data available on various forms of violence experienced by women in public and private spheres.

The OSCE project will focus on situational analysis, development of training tools and guidelines, and awareness-raising in three beneficiary countries – Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania. The project has received funding from the EU’s Justice Programme.
