This is a yearly national festival celebrating older people in the arts. Bealtaine runs in partnership with over 400 organisations and groups which organise events throughout the country. Each year, the participating organisations collaborate closely to provide advice, network and fundraise. Bealtaine is an Age & Opportunity initiative part-funded by the Arts Council and delivered by hundreds of organisations around the country. Dublin City Council is an investment partner. In 2009, a major independent evaluation of the Bealtaine festival was published by the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology in the National University of Ireland, Galway.
