On 17-18 September FRA will take part in a meeting of EU-US Justice and Home Affairs senior officials that will be hosted by the Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU in Rome.
On 17 September, the FRA Director will deliver a welcome address to participants of the European Chapter of the International Ombudsman Institute’s general assembly in Tallinn, which will discuss the role of ombudsmen in democracies.
FRA will take in an expert meeting on Roma inclusion in Brussels on 17 September.
On 18 September, FRA will give a presentation on ‘Meeting victims’ rights in practice – evidence from EU-wide research by FRA’ during the session on ‘The importance of assessing the rights of victims of crime’ of the seminar “Right to Quality Services for Victims of Crime”, organised by the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV).
The Head of FRA's Freedoms & Justice Department, Joanna Goodey, will discuss the findings of the Agency’s violence against women report in Lisbon.
FRA Director Morten Kjaerum will speak at the conference ‘Safe from fear, safe from violence’ in Rome on 19 September.
The Head of FRA's Statistics & Surveys Sector, Sami Nevala, will present the Agency's violence against women survey to the Portuguese Parliament.
On 19 September, FRA and the Assembly of European Regions (AER) will hold a workshop on the FRA toolkit for local and regional officials in Brussels.

FRA will take part in an event on Europe 2020 organised by the Aspen Institute Italy in Rome on 21-22 September.
On 22 September, FRA will speak at one of the roadshow events of the Greek programme “We are all Citizens”.

From 23 to 27 September there will be an international academy in Graz to train public officials on how to manage human rights in cities.
A first-ever thematic platform meeting between FRA, the Council of Europe, the European Network of Equality Bodies (Equinet) and the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) will discuss asylum and migrant rights at FRA on 24 September.
The Spanish Observatory on domestic and gender violence is awarding its annual prize to FRA in recognition of its work on violence against women.
On 28 October 2014, the Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU, in cooperation with the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the General Secretariat of the Council will host the high-level conference “Tackling sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination: next steps in EU and Member State policy making”. The event will take place in the Council of the EU premises (Justus Lipsius) in Brussels.
