FRA has been invited by the Netherlands Presidency of the Council of the EU to participate in a conference on strengthening multidisciplinary cooperation against human trafficking for labour exploitation.
On 15 January in Vienna, FRA will speak at a conference marking the 10th anniversary of Austrian Anti-Discrimination Law for people with disabilities hosted by the Austrian Disability Ombudsman and Austria’s Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection.
On 18 December, FRA together with other EU bodies in Vienna, the City of Vienna and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institut of Human Rights hosts an event to honour Raif Badawi, the 2015 European Parliament Sakharov Prize winner. Mr Badawi, a journalist and blogger was sentenced by a Saudi Arabian court to 10 years in prison and 1,000 lashes on a charge of insulting Islam.
Manfred Nowak, Austrian member and Vice-Chairperson of FRA’s Management Board is organising a public roundtable event in Vienna on 16 December to mark the arrival of new FRA Director Michael O’Flaherty.
The FRA Management and Executive Boards will meet on 15-16 December. On 15 December, the 37th meeting of the FRA Executive Board will take place, followed by the 23rd Meeting of the FRA Management Board on 15-16 December.
FRA, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria, is organising a workshop on 14-15 December at the Agency to discuss the development of a toolbox on communicating respect, tolerance and non-discrimination in the EU.
On 14 December, FRA will take part in a conference on the investigation and adjudication of hate and discrimination crimes organised in Barcelona by the Centre of Legal Studies and Specialised Education of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia in cooperation with the Superior Public Prosecution Service.
