The European Parliament and the European Commission, who both expressed strong interest in the work of the forum, attended this high-level meeting. During the meeting proposals were collected to establish a work programme for 2013. The forum has been set up to advise Frontex’s Executive Director and its Management Board on the fundamental rights aspects of Frontex’s activities. The inauguration of the Consultative Forum was covered in the Austrian, German and Polish press.
FRA elected to chair Frontex Consultative Forum
Aydan Iyigüngör from FRA and Stefan Kessler from the Jesuit Refugee Council were unanimously elected to chair and co-chair the Frontex Consultative Forum, during its inaugural meeting which took place on 16 October in Warsaw.
