Meetings between FRA and institutions safeguarding fundamental rights

Leading representatives of national human rights bodies, the European Ombudsman Office, the Council of Europe’s secretariat general and the office of the Human Rights Commissioner met with FRA on 15 October to discuss issues of common interest and how to further enhance cooperation and strengthen the fundamental rights landscape in Europe.

This meeting was followed on 16 October by the annual FRA and Equinet meeting where FRA and members of the European network of equality bodies, Equinet, met for their annual cooperation and coordination meeting in Vienna. During the meetings participants discussed the significant potential of the Charter to safeguard fundamental rights, the evolving fundamental rights landscape, as well as the changes being brought about by the current economic climate.
