On January 24, FRA hosted a panel on the redress mechanisms in the area of data protection, where the preliminary results of the FRA projects on redress mechanisms were discussed. The panel discussion served as a reality check of the situation on the ground and highlighted that more needs to be done to guarantee the fundamental right of data protection effectively in practice. FRA also discussed its opinion on the data protection reform package during a panel on 25 January highlighting the interconnectedness of the fundamental right of data protection with other fundamental rights. Throughout the conference, FRA was present with an exhibition stand where participants had the opportunity to explore FRA’s work.
