The FRA today (26 November) presented the results of its LGBT survey at a European Parliament workshop, which aimed at shedding light on the situation of lesbians in Europe, with a particular emphasis on violence and harassment, and their legal situation.

The presentation was given by the Head of FRA's Communication Department, Friso Roscam Abbing, and focused on the data relating to the experiences of hate crime and discrimination of lesbians.

The event brought together members of the European Parliament, including Mikael Gustafsson MEP, Chair of the European Parliament's Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality, and Cornelia Ernst MEP. Civil society organisations were also present to discuss country-specific situations.
