University of Amsterdam discussion on the rights of LGBT people

On 19 June, FRA presented the findings of the EU LGBT Survey during an academic discussion under the title 'Is Sexual Diversity Dividing Europe?’ at the University of Amsterdam pointing to the fear, isolation and discrimination that are common in Europe’s LGBT community.

The presentation was given alongside the Netherlands Institute of Social Research (SCP) which was also invited by the Mosse Foundation and Amsterdam Research Center for Gender and Sexuality to present its findings.

The SCP recently published an in-depth analysis of previous surveys on the attitudes of European citizens to homosexuality - exploring and explaining developments and differences between countries.

The discussions focused on the overall implications for future research and government policy resulting from the work of FRA and SCP.
