Experts gather at Europol to discuss human trafficking

FRA took part in Europol’s expert meeting on human trafficking on 5-6 June in The Hague.

The meeting addressed cybercrime, and the use of technology and the internet in human trafficking. It also covered child trafficking, focusing on exploitation and forced criminality. FRA talked about its work on child trafficking, and specifically the role of guardianship systems in preventing child trafficking and in protecting victims. FRA also made reference to its handbook on guardianship systems for children deprived of parental care, which aims to reinforce guardianship systems by catering to the specific needs of child victims of trafficking. The handbook will be published at the end of June.
