The FRA Director, Morten Kjaerum, and FRA's research team met with the Special Representative on Gender Issues of the OSCE Chairmanship, June Zeitlin; the OSCE Senior Advisor on Gender Issues, Miroslava Beham; and the Gender Focal Point and First Deputy Director of ODIHR, Beatriz Balbin.

FRA and the OSCE officials discussed the results of the FRA’s survey on violence against women on 1 April at FRA. They also discussed the importance of comprehensive and comparable evidence as key to the development of policy and practical responses to address violence against women. Many States still have to grapple with a lack of comprehensive data on the scale and nature of this problem. Consequently, the discussions also dealt with the follow-up to FRA’s survey, and with the possibility that the survey be replicated beyond the EU, within the OSCE region.
