OSCE Human Dimension seminar on enhancing cooperation

On 13 May, FRA took part in the 2014 OSCE Human Dimension Seminar on Improving OSCE effectiveness by enhancing its cooperation with relevant regional and international organisations, held in Warsaw on 12-14 May.

The seminar discussed OSCE Human Dimension Commitments in the context of cooperation with relevant regional and international organisations; the provision of assistance and expertise; the collection, processing, exchange and dissemination of data, statistics and other information; and best practices for cooperation.

FRA presented and took part in a question and answer session concerning the collection and uses of data, statistics and other information in the field of human rights, and the EU followed this with a statement underlining general support for FRA’s data collection approach and its accompanying reports, which have been presented at different meetings of the OSCE Human Dimension Committee and other OSCE events. The seminar highlighted that the OSCE can play a role in rolling out FRA data collection initiatives in OSCE participating States outside the EU.
