Seminar focuses on minimum standards for crime victims

The Academy of European Law in Trier hosted a seminar on ‘Access to justice for crime victims in the EU – Focus on minimum standards in criminal proceedings’ on 10–11 April.

The seminar focused on the content of the new EU legal instruments on participation of victims in criminal proceedings (such as the EU Victims’ Directive). It also covered national legislation and judicial practice on procedural safeguards and access to justice available to crime victims, especially in cross-border cases. During the seminar, FRA presented preliminary findings from its project on victims of crime.
