Violence against women discussed with Maltese government

On 24 April FRA met with Maltese government representatives at the Ministry for the Family and Social Solidarity to discuss violence against women.

The representatives included: Renee Laiviera, Commissioner for Equality; Katya Unah, Member of the Commission against Violence; George Sultana, Director EU Affairs at the Ministry for Social Policy; Marceline Naudi, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty for Social Wellbeing, University of Malta; Silvan Agius, Policy Coordinator, Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties; Maurizio Cordina, Lawyer at the Office of the Attorney General and Victoria Buttigieg, NLO, Office of the Attorney General.

FRA discussed the key survey results and opinions with the representatives. During the meeting concrete ways for cooperation between FRA and Malta were identified, such as mutually inviting representatives to upcoming meetings where violence against women will be further discussed.
