The plenary session addressed the issue of migration under the title ‘Securing solidarity in Europe. From Mare Nostrum to Mare Europaeum’. FRA’s address focused on the legal framework regulating access to healthcare for different groups in EU Member States such as asylum seekers, refugees and irregular migrants. It also covered the economic benefits of providing timely access to healthcare to irregular migrants, based on the findings of its recently published report on the cost of exclusion from healthcare.
