Human Dimension Implementation Meeting discusses child rights

On 29 September, FRA took part in the OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting in Warsaw, which for the first time dedicated a day to discussions on child rights.

The Agency presented European legal standards which build on the UN Child Rights Convention. It covered various aspects from the Handbook on European law relating to the rights of the child such as: the position of children in parental separation/child abduction cases; child rights in the context of migration and asylum; child detention conditions; protection against violence and exploitation; treatment of children in criminal proceedings; protection of children against identity theft and arbitrary refusal of citizenship; and the right of children to object to data processing.
