Annual Computers, Privacy & Data Protection conference takes a look at surveillance

The Agency hosted a panel focusing on remedies available to individuals alleging rights violations in the context of surveillance during the annual Computers, Privacy & Data Protection conference in Brussels on 27 January.

During the debate, speakers acknowledged the vital role civil society plays as a counterweight to surveillance activities by intelligence services.

As one of the sponsors of the conference, the Agency was also present throughout the event with an information stand. There was strong interest in the Agency’s family of legal handbooks, particularly among academic. In addition, the Agency presented selected Roma results from its second EU minorities and discrimination survey on 26 January.
