European Parliament discusses the impact of Brexit on Equality and Anti-Discrimination in the EU and UK

The Agency’s Director Michael O’Flaherty gave the keynote speech at the panel debate on the impact of Brexit on equality and anti-discrimination in the EU and UK.

Some of the issues he touched upon in his address included the transformative power of European Equality Law, the role of transnational learning in forming EU Law and the UK’s role in promoting equality and tackling discrimination. The debate on 9 October was organised by MEP Claude Moraes, Chair of Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, Equinet – European Network of Equality Bodies, the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the EP, and ARDI (EP Intergroup on Anti-Racism and Discrimination).
