FRA Director underlines youth’s importance at Europe Day event

The FRA Director Michael O’Flaherty gave a speech on the importance of letting youth engage with the EU and of listening and learning from youth during Europe Day celebrations on 9 May in Vienna.

He also emphasised the importance of fundamental rights especially in the year when the EU marks the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and the Agency marks its 10th anniversary.

Other speeches were made by Ms Leyla Kamyabi, a youth representative, who emphasised the hopes and fears of youth today in the European Union, and by the Vice President of the European Parliament Ulrike Lunacek.
