EVA asbl is the Walloon chapter of the disabled persons’ organisation, the European Network for Independent Living (ENIL). It represents people who receive personal assistance budgets from the Walloon agency for health, social protection, disability and families. The meeting took place on 12 December in Charleroi. It was an opportunity to inform local level actors about the Agency’s work on the right to independent living of people with disabilities. The audience included family members of people with disabilities, people working in community based services, local political actors, representatives of DPOs and people with disabilities. The event was organised to alert the Walloon authorities to issues they would need to consider in the planned reform of the region’s policies on the autonomy of the person.
