Stakeholders explore cybersecurity and the digital age

Preliminary findings and recommendations for an ‘opinion report’ on cybersecurity and the digital age were discussed at a European Commission stakeholder meeting in Brussels on 13 February.

The report had been developed by the Commission’s Scientific Advice Mechanism High Level Group. The meeting addressd a number of technical matters concerning cybersecurity, as well as issues relating to fundamental rights – with reference to the Charter and key areas such as privacy. The Head of FRA’s Freedoms and Justice Department took part in discussions, underlining the need to refer to legal standards to safeguard rights in the report’s recommendations.
