Civil society challenges discussed in Poland

On 14 March in Poland, the Agency presented findings and promising practices from its report on challenges facing civil society organisations working on human rights in the EU.

The event, which was organised in cooperation with European Commission and included speakers such as Adam Bodnar, the Polish Ombudsman attracted over 60 participants from civil society organisations, international organisations and Polish government. The findings and Opinions were discussed in the context of specific situation in Poland. Civil society and government representatives encouraged the Agency to conduct more studies and engagement in this area. Overall, it was clear that civil society are struggling with a number of issues concerning access to funding, participation in decision making process and safe space. Concerns over regulatory environment were voiced by several participants.
