Council of Europe kicks off work on Artificial Intelligence

The Agency took part in the first meeting of the Council of Europe’s Committee of experts on human rights dimensions of automated data processing and different forms of artificial intelligence.

The meeting discussed the upcoming work of the committee to follow up previous work on automated processing of data (particularly algorithms). It also covered a study on the impact of artificial intelligence on fundamental rights and freedoms. FRA’s participation ensures its potential work on the topic complements that of the Council. The meeting took place on 6-7 March 2018 in Strasbourg.
