FRA meets OSCE’s Transnational Threats Department

The Agency met the OSCE Secretariat’s Transnational Threats (TNT) Department for the first time in Vienna on 2 February.

The department’s activities include actions against terrorism, border security and management, strategic police matters, cyber/ICT Security as well as POLIS, the OSCE’s online enforcement information system. The discussions covered OSCE’s recent activities in the fields of travel document security and address violent extremism and radicalisation that lead to terrorism. FRA outlined its surveys and reports on migrants and minorities as well as findings from its work on profiling and biometrics.

FRA also spoke about its upcoming Fundamental Rights Forum. Areas for possible cooperation were explored based on prior consultations between the OSCE Secretary General and FRA’s Director.
