High level expert meeting focuses on victims’ rights

A high-level expert meeting on victims’ rights focused on the rights of victims of terrorist attacks, compensation for victims and strengthening rights of victims of gender-based violence.

The event took place on 29 January in Brussels. The European Commission discussed its plan to set up the EU Coordination Centre for terrorism victims. The centre would serve as a hub gathering the necessary expertise on all matters related to victims of terrorism.

The Agency raised awareness of its publications on violence against women and announced the upcoming report on procedural rights of victims of domestic violence, which will be published in January 2019.
