International conference examines Malta’s draft equality laws

The Agency spoke during the international ‘Human Rights and Equality 2.0’ conference, convened by the Minister of European Affairs and Equality of Malta.

The event sought to analyse Malta’s draft acts to prohibit discrimination in various spheres of life and to help establish a new Human Rights and Equality Commission. The conference took place on 24 May. It was part of a broad consultation process conducted with regard to the draft legislation.

It gathered representatives from the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the European NHRI and equality body networks, as well as key national stakeholders.
