The FRA’s second annual Symposium entitled, "Using indicators to measure fundamental rights in the EU: challenges and solutions", brought together around 100 key experts and stakeholders, to discuss the development and use of indicators as a tool to measure progress in the implementation of fundamental rights in the EU.
The
Director Morten Kjaerum delivered a speech outlining key considerations for policy-makers wishing to promote equal access to education, employment, health care and housing for the Roma at this Commission organised meeting.
The FRA statement highlighted some evolution towards better protection against homophobia and transphobia in some EU Member States. However, discrimination and unequal treatment across a range of issues remain a problem.
On 6 May, the FRA joined the European Commission's delegation in Austria in hosting an all-day event at Vienna's Museum Quarter where the Agency exhibited its work. On 7 May, the Agency also participated in the
