The right to access justice, as guaranteed in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, is essential to ensuring that fundamental rights are enforced in practice.
The Fundamental Rights Agency has published its Handbook on the establishment and accreditation of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in the European Union.
In commemoration of the 1938 Night of Pogrom ‘Kristallnacht’, FRA points to the past to remind us of the need to protect and promote fundamental rights today.
The FRA and the National Liaison Officers (NLOs) held their 12th meeting on 11-12 October 2012 in Vienna. The meeting enabled the Agency to provide the NLOs with an update on its work since the last meeting and to present its strategic priorities for the coming period.
Leading representatives of national human rights bodies, the European Ombudsman Office, the Council of Europe’s secretariat general and the office of the Human Rights Commissioner met with FRA on 15 October to discuss issues of common interest and how to further enhance cooperation and strengthen the fundamental rights landscape in Europe.
On 22-23 October the FRA Director went to Slovenia to present the agency and its work, and further develop relations with key partners and stakeholders in Slovenia.
