Matteo Bonini Baraldi's areas of expertise include civil (contract) law, discrimination law, sexual orientation law, EU law and project cycle management. He taught and researched law in Italy and the Netherlands, and contributed to several scientific, cultural and policy-oriented projects on equality and non-discrimination at national and European level.
In 2006 he co-authored with Kees Waaldijk the book Sexual Orientation Discrimination in the European Union: National Laws and the Employment Equality Directive, Asser Press. In 2010 he published in Italian the book La Famiglia De-genere, Mimesis Edizioni. He is author of several other publications in books or academic journals in his fields of expertise and is a founding member of the European Commission on Sexual Orientation Law.
He holds a PhD from University of Bologna and an LLM from the University of British Columbia.
