Jonas Grimheden's areas of expertise with respect to the FRA’s work include: international human rights law with a focus on international procedures and mechanisms; national human rights institutions; indicators and fundamental rights. He previously worked for several years as a researcher and lecturer at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute at Lund University, and also served as Deputy Head of the Academic Department at the Institute. He has taught and researched law at universities in the USA, Japan and China.
He studied law, and is the co-editor of the book ‘International Human Rights Monitoring Mechanisms’. He has published numerous articles on human and fundamental rights, as well as in the field of comparative law.
