The booklet aims to provide local and regional officials with a framework for understanding more about fundamental rights and applying them when making decisions and completing their regular tasks and activities.
Police officers who ensure that people are able to exercise their fundamental rights and freedoms earn the respect and trust of the public. With this in mind, this manual sets out to foster such human rights-based police work by integrating human rights training into the heart of police training, in line with the European Union’s goals in the field of justice and home affairs.
A Diversity Toolkit for factual programmes in public service television was published by FRA in January 2008 ahead of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue. The Toolkit was developed by media professionals under the auspices of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
