What do civil society organisations think about the Fundamental Rights Platform?
VOICES FROM THE 5th FRP MEETING 2012
Allan Leas "The Fundamental Rights Platform means an enormous amount to ECRE, because it achieves what we, as an individual organisation, can not do, and that is bringing together the largest group of human rights defenders in Europe." |
Pam Bartlett Quintanilla "In my opinion, the biggest challenge for the FRP is fostering a sense of cooperation and dialogue amongst different NGOs with different fundamental problems that they are working on, and different issues, different projects, and just creating a space where they can network. Both on international level but also national level, I think that more cooperation can be achieved, and that the FRP is ideally placed to help with that." |
Roger Kiska "My feeling about the FRP is that it is internationally recognised, that is one of the premier human rights bodies that Europe has, and so our membership here is a badge of honour in a lot of ways. It gives us credibility, but it also gives us access to a great deal of data bases, survey information and networking which is incredible: meeting all these other NGOs from different fields of human rights." |
Evelyne Paradis "I quite liked the FRP meeting for two main reasons: I think this year it was very interactive, there was a lot of space for all of the participants to give their input and raise questions, so that was very positive. The second thing that I quite liked about this meeting was the workshop space and the abilitiy for the different groups represented here to present their work and raise questions with other participants, and that I thought was very constructive." |

VOICES FROM THE 3rd FRP MEETING 2010
| Barbara Terenzi Comitato per la promozione e protezione dei diritti umani - Centro Altiero Spinelli Universita' Roma Tre; L.A.W. Legal Aid Worldwide, Rome, Italy "It is a very interesting experience as the platform is conceived in a way that it is like creating a European civil society; that's why we have representatives from various segments of society, of social life. This is really unique." |
Peter Kinderman "The idea of linking real society - civil society - to the working of the Agency is a very ambitious task from where I'm standing and I think the platform is moving very positively in that direction ... So, the debates we have, I think they do influence the working of the FRA and I think they are an opportunity for people closer to real life to say, this is what we're interested in." |

Mafalda Leal
"I think first of all it's an excellent initiative. It's an opportunity for people to network and - when there are meetings - to meet each other, and to exchange and to know what we are all doing." |
