EU Subgroup on Equality Data meets in Ireland

FRA took part in meetings of the EU Subgroup on Equality Data, facilitated by the Agency.

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission hosted the meetings. It presented key developments on the collection and use of equality data in Ireland. This includes the development of Ireland’s National Equality Data Strategy. It also covered the use of equality data in implementing and monitoring the Irish National Action Plan Against Racism, the National Traveller and Roma Inclusion Strategy, as well as the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy and National LGBTI+ Youth Strategy.

The Subgroup also discussed the draft guidance note on the collection and use of equality data for LGBTIQ equality. Developed by FRA, it compiles key guiding principles for collecting equality data on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex characteristics.

The meetings ran from 6 to 7 October.
