Panel discussion on EU Agencies within the European landscape

FRA has officially assumed the role of the Chair of the EU Agencies Network on 1 March 2014. On 12 March, a formal hand-over meeting will take place at FRA with participation of the Directors of FRA, the European Railway Agency (ERA) and the European Foundation for Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound).

The meeting will be followed by a panel discussion organised at the House of the European Union in Vienna, in cooperation with the European Commission Representation and participation of the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology.

The event is open to the public and will bring together the representatives of three EU Agencies, representing different policy areas, with the representatives of three Ministries of the Republic of Austria. In the panel discussion, the central challenges for the EU in general, as well as the Agencies in particular, will be addressed. The overarching aim of all thematic discussions is to identify how the EU Agencies and the national institutions can cooperate in achieving common objectives and bringing the EU institutions closer to its citizens.
