On 27-29 April, FRA took part in field visits to Lille and Strasbourg to support the fieldwork experts who are implementing the local project plans as part of FRA’s Local Engagement for Roma Inclusion (LERI) project.
FRA presented findings from the first phase of its project on fundamental rights safeguards and remedies in the context of large-scale surveillance by national intelligence authorities in the EU at the 7th Biannual Surveillance and Society Conference on 22 April in Barcelona.
FRA presented findings from its research on detention and alternatives during the event on ‘Strengthening cooperation in criminal matters between the judiciary and national preventive mechanisms – consultation workshop for judges’ on 21–22 April in Trier.
FRA presented its work on access to non-judicial redress mechanisms and political participation of people with disabilities at a seminar on EU disability law and the CRPD organised by the Academy of European Law in Trier on 18 and 19 April.
FRA provided input on how Article 19 (the right to live independently and be included in the community) of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) can be monitored to the CRPD Committee on 19 April in Geneva.
