FRA presents findings at seminar on human trafficking in the Mediterranean

The FRA presented the preliminary findings of its research carried out at Europe’s southern sea borders during a seminar on trafficking in human beings in the Mediterranean region.

The seminar, held in Rome on 8 February 2013, was organised by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The event, which also focused on trafficking for labour exploitation, enabled FRA to establish useful contacts for its project on severe forms of labour exploitation.

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs opened the seminar, which was attended by some 20 OSCE states, in addition to representatives from selected North African countries.
