This year's theme was ‘Digital society at stake – Europe and the future of the Internet’. The event was an open platform for informal and inclusive discussion and exchange on public policy issues related to internet governance between stakeholders from all over Europe. FRA presented relevant findings from its latest surveys during the workshop ‘Hate speech and its consequences for human rights online’. These surveys include its EU LGBT survey, its survey of Jewish people’s experiences and perceptions of discrimination and hate crime in European Union Member States, and its survey on gender-based violence against women.
