UN Women has invited the agency to join its dialogue on women and girls of African descent on 14 March, as a part of the official programme of the 63rd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which takes place in New York.

FRA will highlight the opinions and results presented in its recent report ‘Being Black in the EU’, which analyses the results of FRA’s second EU-wide survey concerning the experiences and opinions of immigrants and ethnic minorities.

Every year, the CSW brings together representatives of the UN member states and other actors to set the UN agenda and advance efforts to protect and promote women’s rights.

The priority theme for the 2019 meeting will be ‘Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls’.
