On 22 and 23 April, FRA Director Sirpa Rautio will speak at the high-level Conference on the role of civil society in the protection of the rule of law. The Director will contribute to a panel discussion on the principle of civil society as an EU value.
On 9 and 10 April, FRA took part in the LGBTIQ Equality Strategy joint consultation and a meeting of the LGBTIQ Equality Subgroup in Brussels.
FRA joined the high-level closing panel of the Paris Arbitration Week where they discussed the integration of human rights into economic law and policy and investment arbitration.
On 8 and 9 April Laura Arikka, the Executive Director of the Finnish Timeout Foundation, and her colleagues visited FRA. FRA’s Director, Sirpa Rautio, introduced them to the Agency and its work.
On 7 April, FRA and the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU held a seminar on the role of civil society in strengthening the rule of law and democratic resilience. The event gathered around 60 justice councillors and national experts from FREMP and General Affairs Council working parties.
On 29 April, FRA will host a webinar for interested organisations within the Agency’s Fundamental Rights Platform. The webinar will explore the vital role civil society organisations play in driving more integrated child protection systems.
On 9 April, FRA addressed a Council of Europe workshop of the European National Preventive Mechanisms (NPMs) Forum. FRA presented its guidance on Monitoring fundamental rights during screening and the asylum border procedure.
FRA presented selected findings from its reports on Artificial intelligence and fundamental rights and bias in algorithms during a conference of the European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association.
FRA took part in the second Eurojust Annual Victims’ Rights Symposium. On 2 and 3 April in the Hague, Eurojust gathered around 50 judicial practitioners.
FRA contributed to the spring session of the Council of Europe’s Conference of International NGOs (CINGO) in Strasbourg on 7-8 April. Participants discussed civic space challenges and how to address them.
Labour inspectors can play a crucial role in protecting migrant workers from exploitation and abuse. New practical exercises and training guides from the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) will support inspectors in safeguarding non-EU workers’ rights.
FRA met members of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) Working Group on the UN’s Convention of the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD).

Die Agentur der Europäischen Union für Grundrechte (FRA) führt ein Pilotprojekt für ein Beratungsgremium für junge Menschen durch, um ihnen in Bezug auf Grundrechtsfragen in der EU mehr Gehör zu verschaffen. Das Gremium setzt sich aus sieben jungen Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Hintergründen und im Alter von 18 bis 25 Jahren zusammen, die Erfahrung in der zivilgesellschaftlichen Arbeit und der Interessenvertretung von Jugendlichen haben.

FRA will join a consultation that will prepare for the LGBTIQ Equality Strategy post-2025. This will include a discussion on the new mandate of the LGBTIQ Equality Subgroup and on the role of Member States in implementing the strategy through national action plans and relations with the European Commission.
On 10 April, a delegation of four judges from the Constitutional Court of Ukraine will visit the Agency. The OSCE Support Programme to Ukraine organised the visit.
FRA and the Permanent Representation of the Polish Presidency will hold a seminar for experts on the role of civil society in defending fundamental rights, the rule of law and democracy.
FRA attended a meeting of Eurostat’s equality and non-discrimination statistics task force on 19 and 20 March in Luxembourg.
FRA took part in a consultation on Luxembourg’s LGBTIQ Equality Action Plan and related policies.
