Juul van Hoof is a seconded national expert from Movisie, the Netherlands Centre for Social Development. Her areas of expertise with regard to FRA’s work include equality and non-discrimination, gender, LGBTI and hate crime. She has previously worked as a programme manager on inclusion and diversity issues, and as a senior policy adviser and trainer for local, regional and national governments. A large part of her work concerned LGBTI-inclusive policies and in that field, she served as an expert to the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. In 2011, she founded the Rainbow Cities Network, a network of local governments involved in LGBTI-inclusive policies.
She studied Social Anthropology and Gender Studies at the University of Amsterdam, and holds an MSc in Anthropology and non-western Sociology.
