A parliamentary correspondence of 17 February 2015 stated, that there were controversies regarding passenger name record data in the EU-Subcommittee within the Parliament. The plan of the EU Member States’ ministers of the interior also to exchange passenger name record data between EU States led to discrepancies between opposition and government. The Freedom Party, the Green Party, Team Stronach and NEOS strongly spoke against this, while Social Democratic Party of Austria and the Austrian People's Party were for accomplishing a human rights compatible solution. Opposition parties feared a massive violation of the CFR as well as abolishing the presumption of innocence.
