Key findings

The report is the annual human rights report issued by the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee (BHC) (Български хелзинкски комитет, БХК). It lists the most serious violations of the religious freedom of Muslims, including a series of protests in Sofia, organised by one of the political parties known for its anti-Muslim rhetoric, numerous acts of vandalism against praying homes, and the temporary suspension from school of a Muslim girl for wearing a headscarf.

Methodology (Qualitative/Quantitative and exact type used, questionnaires etc)

The report does not have its own methodology. It combines the findings of other studies and reports with an overview of events and incidents that happened throughout the year.
