Key findings

In its annual report, the MRAX publishes detailed statistics about the cases of alleged occurrences of racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism that it has opened during the year.
In total, 227 cases were opened. 42 were related to insults, 90 related to discriminations, 19 related to harassment, 21 related to acts of violence and 55 related to incitement to hatred.
Of those 227 cases, 47 were based on an anti-Arab motive, 33 on an anti-black motive, 73 on an anti-Islam motive, 35 on an anti-foreigner motive, 12 on an anti-migrant motive and 5 on an anti-Asian motive.

The figures are based on the data obtained throughout the year from cases of alleged occurrences of racism, xenophobia or anti-semitism opened by the MRAX during 2016.
